Richard Burton, Rex Harrison and Elizabeth Taylor star in one of the greatest screen spectacles ever made - the story of the Queen of the Nile and her love affairs with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. The film is distinguished by superb performances from Burton and Harrison (nominated for an Oscar), but at its center is Elizabeth Taylor in one of the most glamorous roles of her career. Astounding in scope and grandeur, the picture won Oscars for cinematography, sets and special effects. It's famous moments include moviedom's most flamboyant entrance - Cleopatra's dazzling arrival in Rome. Bolstered by a talented supporting cast and utterly stunning backdrops, here is a truly epic portrayal of the woman who conquered two of Rome's greatest soldiers, affected the course of history, and became synonymous with beguiling beauty - Cleopatra.

  • Awful

OMG this is the worst epic I have watched, it’s the costume jewelry of Epics.Ben Hur, the 10 Commandments, Spartacus these are true Epics. The acting is wooden and amateurish, the casting is ridiculous, the pharaoh looks like a teenage boy from Iowa.

I enjoyed watching this now knowing the behind the scenes drama between Elizabeth and Burton. How over budget it went, the delays, her getting sick..his wife her husband she took from Debbie Reynolds etc. plus know Burton was an alcoholic and it shows in some of his scenes. It’s really a fabulous movie. Some memorable scenes. Not entirely historically accurate, but that’s show biz. 👍

  • Documentary better than movie

The 2 hour documentary included in the iTunes extras is a lot more interesting than the movie itself and worth the price. It's a great trip through Hollywood history. The movie itself is not as exciting, but there are great costumes, and some memorable scenes. The documentary and Cleopatra's entrance into Rome are totally worth it.

So I had 8 GB of memory left and decided to rent ,before the rent would clean up but fail. Now it appears it will clean cache and then download.Totally worth it as after deleting the download,I had 20 GB of space. Then deleted some big apps (you can download big apps to get under movie size ,then delete Night Sky is good one) and have 23 GB now!Movie is okay,I watch it on Apple TV ,for $4 my phone is way better and no app really works as good as this trick.

  • Very well done

Perhaps it plays fast and loose with some aspects of history but that's not the real point - it's very entertaining and reasonably accurate with the known facts. I strongly recommend it.
