Description

A sprawling epic of family, faith, power and oil, THERE WILL BE BLOOD is set on the incendiary frontier of California’s turn-of-the-century petroleum boom. The story chronicles the life and times of one Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), who transforms himself from a down-and-out silver miner raising a son on his own into a self-made oil tycoon. When Plainview gets a mysterious tip-off that there’s a little town out West where an ocean of oil is oozing out of the ground, he heads with his son, H.W. (Dillon Freasier), to take their chances in dust-worn Little Boston. In this hardscrabble town, where the main excitement centers around the holy roller church of charismatic preacher Eli Sunday (Paul Dano), Plainview and H.W. make their lucky strike. But even as the well raises all of their fortunes, nothing will remain the same as conflicts escalate and every human value – love, hope, community, belief, ambition and even the bond between father and son – is imperiled by corruption, deception and the flow of oil.

I can’t believe I wasted almost 3 hours watching this movie. They tempt you to wasting 3 hours of your life with good actors, but it doesn’t make up for a Crappy story and an annoying disappointing ending.

There Will Blood has visually flare and loads of amazing acting and beautiful cinemtopgrahpy. Paul Thomas Anderson's direction is worthy of suprises but Daniel Day-Lewis is the best part of the movie his descent into madness is really convicing and lol fantastic .

There was so much going for this movie, Day Lewis definitely deserved the Oscar, great cinematography, very unique story, and the score was done by one of the guys from Radiohead, and I love me some Radiohead! All this, and yet... it was one of the most PAINFUL cinematic experiences I have ever forced myself to sit though! It is absolutely pretentious and I didn’t enjoy a second of it, I'm sorry but yeah I gotta say I think it's an over all terrible movie

An excellent film! Daniel Day Lewis gives a fantastic performance, a breakdown of the American Dream which is corruption, greed and selfishness. Capitalism at its core and how it has changed the world. Beautifully shot and directed. No this is not a happy film but it is an important amazing one!

If you don’t like slow burn movies with not a lot of action this isn’t for you. This film relies on atmosphere, cinematography and Daniel Day Lewis’s jaw dropping performance to tell a great story.

As a strong Christian, the only reason this movie is not blasphemous to me is because to me it's not a statement about God not existing it's a story about a false prophet who shames people while being a complete liar and a man who became incredibly successful but in the end, lost his mind because he only cared about money and alcohol. The greatest acting all around ever
