Description

Kidnapped while attending a religious conference in the Middle East, American journalist Doug Rawlins (Jim Caviezel, The Passion of the Christ) is a hostage of the Iranian regime on trial for trumped-up charges of espionage. With no help from her State Department connections, Doug's wife Liz (Claudia Karvan, Daybreakers) decides to take matters into her own hands to find her husband and bring him home. Inspired by true events and ripped from today’s headlines, Infidel casts light on the plight of the Americans currently held captive in Iran.

You don’t get kidnapped for going to Cairo and saying these things because in reality all Muslims will accept you if you believe in god. Also it doesn’t make sense how the Israelis manage to get two helikopters past the border of Iran and have enough fuel to get back. This is not accurate because IRGC doesn’t kidnap anyone for no good reason and if they were going to kidnap him, they would have followed him around for years to see if he was bad then kidnapped him. They have better things to do then kidnap people for their opinion. Also for those of you who claim this is based on a true story, why don’t you Guide us to a News article that refers to the true story of this event. Also if Iran had a spy in the USA they wouldn’t be hanging up posters of themselves shooting a rocket next to a picture of the head of the IRGC. You wouldn’t even be knowing he was from the Middle East if he was a spy. There are probably a lot of spies from Iran in the USA and they haven’t even been suspected. If the Iranians were that stupid, you Amerikans and Israelis would have nothing to worry about.

Jim Caviezal does not disappoint. Although the narrative of the movie is not based on a specific situation, the film accurately portrays the intense simmering emotions between two of the worlds religions, Christianity and Islam. Grab your popcorn and enjoy a traditional action movie filled with unexpected twists.

Faith based movie with predictable outcome pitting christians (good people) vs muslims(bad people). Excess violence
  • Timely and interesting.

Infidel had a good pace and storyline that flowed well. I especially liked that it wasn't over-the-top Hollywood action. Having Iranian friends who emigrated to the States, the stories I've heard about the receptive nature of Americans by those who remember life under Shah Reza Pahlavi were reflected well in the movie. The movie is worth the time to rent, or buy.

    Just a Christian propaganda movie

Unfortunately this movie felt insincere and contrived. It’s not that the scenarios depicted in the movie aren’t realistic or don’t happen, they are and do. My complaint is the story was unconvincing and felt like they were trying too hard to make a point. The story is compelling, the execution of the movie was not...

Excellent movie. Kept me engaged the whole time- fastest hour and half movie I’ve watched in a while.

This movie is a true story. Just because it didn’t happen to you doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. More stories like this should be made so that people will get their heads out of the dirt and understand that anything can happen.

It’s a smart screenplay with good acting. A few plot holes here and there but otherwise very enjoyable.
