In Blumhouse's continuation of the cult hit The Craft, an eclectic foursome of aspiring teenage witches get more than they bargained for as they lean into their newfound powers.
This new version is horrible. They totally ruined this movie. Don’t spend your money on this .
Nothing like the First
MAYBE had the first movie had ceased to exist and the audience could judge it on its own merits then it would be okay. However, I found myself flinching when I compared this film to it's predecessor. From the shimmery cutesy eye makeup and over indulgence of glitter to it's giggly Instagram friendly focus, this little in common with the vibe of the 1996 version which it's teenaged convent had teen angst, lived basically on the social fringes and wore gothic attire as opposed to these chicks would look as if they came fresh from the a modeling casting call (for the most part). Its like a kiddie version of the original.
Can I Delete
I think they were going for a feminist vibe but they failed. It’s not empowering but embarrassing and boring, labeling all men evil and women victim to them. The characters are lame and don’t mesh. Yawn, it’ll leave you wishing you hadn’t. What a let down from the original.
Sorry excuse for #2.
I thought it was so good! Definitely would recommend this movie!
This is garbage
If you loved and admire the Craft first movie. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT WATCH. It’s a disgusting continuation of the first move.
This is great movie and awesome cast. I hope there be a sequel. Love it.
Ending was the best part
The cameo at the end was the best part
Gen Z Witches
Nothing like the first movie, with its gothic loathing and dark magic. This film is like Me Too spit out witchcraft and said “I am a woman, hear me purr.” Whereas the prior film was about young women who aggressively take their power, this film acknowledges women who just “get” their power.
Short story, a girl moves to a new town (like the first), has no friends, gets some friends who are witches only cause they know she is a witch, and spells happen. Only in this movie the friends are against the “evil” magic that the new one casts, which sadly is her attempt at a spell through “self love” to fall in love with a bisexual boy. Full of good themes but falls flat.
Just get the the end where you feel more Charmed than The Craft. If the producers come out with a third, set it in New Orleans and make it dark, gothic, and less teenage.
Glad I rented it
Absolute trash. Instead of focusing on a plot or characters, they PC the heck out of the movie.
Not even close to being the original.
DONT WATCH THIS GARBAGE!
