A space thriller about the discovery of intelligent alien life.

  • GOOD

Picked this up while it was on sale and gave it a whirl. I love space movies and creature features so of course I had to jump on it. It’s definitely not perfect and there are some questionable choices made by the crew, but I can forgive it. It’s fun and thrilling and well-shot. But lordt, that ending was kind of a mess lol. I still recommend. Definitely a 4 out of 5 type of film.
  • Could be better seemed rushed

This movie just felt rushed. The acting was ok, CGI was actually kinda good. Overall it was ok. Not a movie I want to watch a 2nd time unless it’s on. It’s not 5 star worthy obviously. It feels like a typical alien movie except without big aliens, rushed, if you can’t find something you enjoy to watch one day. Give this a chance.
  • Awful

By life is a terrible movie
The actors were emotionless and terrible. Their actions defied all logic, and the movie itself was extremely boring. One star is unfortunately the lowest I can rate this
  • Ugh!!!

I’ve already seen “Alien”! Other than that pillaged plot, it wasn’t totally bad. If you know nothing about Alien you may enjoy it.
  • Fun

I got scared throughout the whole movie! lol
  • More like Alien than Prometheus

Creepy and graphic.,this Scifi ode to Alien movies doesnt disappoint. An amazing discovery and man's curiosity could lead to the destruction of sll we know. This movie takes and old genre and give a fresh take.
  • Bad science, bad plot

    By Shrikey
Your typical cheesy horror b-movie reborn. Basically, everything that happens is either: strictly improbable, implausible, and dumb. I love a good sci-fi flick, and I assure you that this is not one. It takes itself too seriously for the absurdity it contains. It starts off super serious and realistic like Gravity, but quickly loses focus of established scientific facts (and reality), falling into just about every bad sci-fi bad alien trope out there. It isn’t even self-consistent, noting that the wrong mix of atmosphere or temperature sends the organism into stasis. Minutes later it’s nonchalantly crawling around in hard vacuum. It’s bad. Expert scientists and doctors quickly lose any semblance of training and panic at every turn. It’s bad. The creature quickly becomes impervious to everything & the crew of trained professionals just as quickly become the worst decision makers ever. Ugh.
  • I found it entertaining enough to forget the dumb parts

I've been a sci-fi fan since forever and am willing to cut this genre some slack in the "Would logical people do this?" department. Why? Because it's science fiction! As such it trades off some virtues of conventional drama in exchange for a journey to a different world. If you're constantly seeking out inconsistencies in a science fiction film, you're not going to be able to suspend your disbelief. For me, the film's production values, its pacing, some of the performances, and a refreshingly new take on the nasty alien kept me engaged right to the shocking end. Yes, I encountered a few groan-inducing moments but not enough to keep me from wondering what was going to happen next. For a couple of hours I was entertained, so for me it was worth the investment. It's more lightweight than what I usually watch, but some days you'd take a chocolate sundae over an elaborate meal. Know what I mean?
  • Worse than it looks or sounds

These “scientists” make so many stupid decisions, it’s impossible to care about them. Good actors with awful, nonsensical writing and an underwhelming enemy.
  • Trash!

If I could give less than one star I would. This was a waste of time and that is being nice about it. This movie is seriously about some of the smartest people on the planet acting like complete morons? Being selfish, not following standard rules or procedures. Umm hello?!? These people are astronauts.... their entire careers training to follow orders and to be selfless. Always sacrificing for their crew, humanity, and the greater good. How is a movie about everyone being selfish and making the worst decisions possible any good? Don’t water your money or time on this movie!
